10,000 EV Rides Campaign to Drive Electric Vehicle Awareness and Adoption
The Electric Vehicle Association is partnering with Generation180 to take 10,000 people on their first ride in an electric car or truck because it’s the best way to help them discover all the benefits of driving electrically.
Through the 10,000 EV Rides campaign, EVA members and Generation180 ambassadors will inspire friends, neighbors, and colleagues by offering them a firsthand experience in an electric vehicle. We expect that the EV rides will increase the number of consumers who consider an electric car or truck for their next vehicle purchase.
“Personal experience is one of the most powerful drivers of EV adoption,” said Elaine Borseth, President of the Electric Vehicle Association. “By enabling thousands of individuals to ride in an EV, we’re creating lasting impressions and breaking down barriers to clean transportation. And we want to encourage clean energy transportation choices.”
EVA is supporting the ambitious goal of encouraging electric car and truck owners to offer 10,000 rides to friends, family and co-workers, unfamiliar with EV technology. Studies show riding in an EV makes someone up to three times more likely to consider purchasing one. While there is a general awareness around EVs, our goal is to increase consideration by improving familiarity with the benefits of EV ownership.
According to Generation180’s research, the more people are exposed to EVs, the more positively they view them. The 10,000 EV Rides campaign will harness this momentum, empowering EVA members and leveraging strategic partnerships to make electric transportation accessible and relatable.
What You Can Do
Give EV rides to friends, family, and colleagues individually and at your EVA chapter events.
Share your knowledge about your EV, how you charge your vehicle, and costs for electricity and maintenance.
Spread the word: Post photos and quotes on your individual social media profiles and on your chapter’s social profiles, too. Tag your photo/s @electricvehicleassociation and #10kEVrides.
Tell Us About Your Ride
Generation180 will pick a monthly winner: either someone who gave a ride in their EV or someone who took a ride in an EV.
